Listen up all you bagel-lovers! This is the toaster you've previously seen only in your dreams. Imagine, a bagel whose crust side is gently warmed, but not toasted, yet whose cut side emerges gently browned. Nirvana! If you're not a devotE of the bagel, don't worry, this toaster has plenty of handy features for bread and breakfast pastry fanciers too.
This compact two-slot toaster from KitchenAid comes with a menu of toasting features and a sturdy, user-friendly structure. KitchenAid's Even Heat system automatically adjusts the heavy-gauge heating elements, so toast comes out consistently, even in large batches. A bagel function toasts the cut side of bagels, while simply warming the crusts, and a warming function gently reheats previously toasted foods. The Easy Lift lever and Soft Rise feature are both helpful when lowering slices or raising them to a graspable height. Notably wide and deep, the self-centering dual slots accommodate thick slices of brioche or fat bagels. Other handy details include a dial for shade control, "cut side" markings for bagel toasting, power indicator lights, a dishwasher-safe crumb tray, and power cord storage hooks. The toaster's stainless-steel interior and polycarbonate housing are built to last and easy to clean. The unit measures 11 by 7-3/4 by 6-3/4 inches. --Emily Bedard
If you like you toast brown this is not the toaster for youReviewed by Nory Turner, 2010-03-09
It seems that you can't get a toaster that actually toasts anymore.
I like my toast brown - to get that using this toaster I need to
toast it twice on the high setting.
I would not buy this item again.
Great Toaster!!!Reviewed by Nancy A. Pedersen, 2010-02-17
We have tried many toasters, only to be very unsatisfied. This toaster is great. It toasts bread perfectly. When putting the bread in, you don't have to fight with the handle, it goes down very easily. You get your money's worth with this toaster!!!

Toaster looks good but toasts unevenly. I would expect more from a KitchenAid product. My $9 old toaster does a better job.
Just O.K.Reviewed by Joan Dillon, 2010-02-14
The toaster is a nice looking appliance on our granite counter top. My only problem is that to get the toast to look like toast you have to have the dial placed on the max position. Didn't toast English Muffins very well and I don't eat bagels so I can't comment on that. Usually Kitchen Aid appliances are really good but I am a little disappointed in this toaster.
Excellent bread WARMERReviewed by B. A. Kinkle, 2010-01-31
This is a wonderful product in almost every respect. It's
attractive, well made, the casing doesn't get hot when in use and
you don't need an extension cord if your electric outlet isn't
exactly where you want to keep it. It's also easy to clean and the
bagel mode is one of those simple innovations that make you wonder
why someone didn't think of it sooner. KitchenAid would have a
fantastic product here if it weren't for one fatal flaw.
Even turned up to the darkest setting, this toaster refuses to add
a single brown highlight to bread or english muffins, in one cycle.
Bagels do slightly better, but even they need a little more than
one full cycle to toast them to my liking.
Perhaps if you want a toaster only to warm up pastries and to toast
bagels very lightly this might be the toaster of your dreams. But
if you're like me and you like your toast browned, keep looking.
